On October 31, 2022, the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong released the Policy Statement on Development of Virtual Assets in Hong Kong, setting out the HKSAR Government's policy stance and approach to the virtual asset industry and ecosystem that is flourishing in Hong Kong. Half a month prior to this, the Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government, Paul Chan Mo-po, published an article Hong Kong's Venture Development and pointed out the need to demonstrate to the global industry Hong Kong's vision to develop into an international virtual asset hub, as well as its commitment and determination to explore financial innovation together with the global asset industry.
In the past, Hong Kong was an international financial center, and features such as globalized market and high liquidity made virtual assets qualified for global investors. Now that Hong Kong's regulatory level has not only changed its attitude towards virtual asset business compatibility, but also provided strong support from policy, capital to talent in all aspects, Hong Kong has the potential to develop into a new Asian crypto hub.
The "Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023" will also attract more than 100 popular Web3 projects, communities and media to exhibit at the event. As one of the key events of Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023, "Fueling Up HK 2023", co-organized by AC Capital, BasicsCapital, LeadCapital, BlockTides will be held on the evening of April 12.
