Freename, a Zurich, Switzerland-based domain registrar bridging DNS and Blockchain technologies, raised $6.5M in Series A funding.
The round was led by Entrée Capital with participation from Polymorphic Capital, with participation from seed investors Sparkle Ventures, Blockchain Founders Fund, and Golden Record Ventures and new angel investors including Mike Lobanov (Co-Founder of Target Global), Rashwan family office, and Aaron Schnarch (former CEO of Coinbase Custody).
The company intends to use the funds to drive product innovation, expand its global footprint, further unify Web2 and Web3 digital identity ecosystems and enable not just traditional IP addresses but also wallet addresses in a regulated manner.
