Three UK nationals have been charged by the US Department of Justice for orchestrating a $3 million scam involving the "Evolved Apes" NFT collection. The defendants are accused of wire fraud and money laundering in a pump-and-dump scheme where they convinced NFT collectors to purchase Ethereum-based NFTs for an online game that was never developed.
